MIAMI HEAT PLAYER HASSAN WHITESIDE’S FOUNDATION SPONSORS NYAH PROJECT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Hassan Whiteside, NBA basketball player and star of the Miami Heat, presented a sponsorship cheque to Nyah Project, accepted by our 2017 Fellows on behalf of the organization on August 19, 2017.
The Warm Up, a star-studded private event at River Yacht Club featured a one-on-one fireside chat with the Hassan Whiteside, entertainment, a fashion show, and a panel of professional athletes who shared personal experiences of overcoming obstacles to success as a means of inspiring the youth present.
Whiteside shared insights on “the importance of finding something that motivates you and carries you to your dream.” This, he observed, solidified his vision for the Whiteside Foundation, “it’s about giving back to kids that don’t have the means to keep building for the future.”
Daniel Green, Nyah Project Executive Committee Member, and event organizer remarked, “we are proud to have the Whiteside Foundation support our work of providing more transformative experiences abroad for deserving youth. My time in South Africa and Namibia this summer as a chaperone for the the program was equally as life-changing as it was for our fellows.”
Special thanks to On Decker, Green Sports Management, and the Whiteside Foundation for including the Nyah Project the opportunity to participate.
